Through experimentation with matter, pigments, and collage, I generate atmospheres, textures, and harmonies.

Joan Peris

Joan Peris, born in 1965 in Castellón, is a multidisciplinary visual artist who has lived and worked in Barcelona for over 25 years. Throughout his career he has explored disciplines such as painting, photography, digital art and sculpture, with a work marked by experimentation with materials and the fusion of diverse elements. His pieces, highly textured and rich in contrast, reflect his dedication to expanding the limits of artistic expression.

His beginnings date back to the 80s and 90s, when he studied graphic design, photography and ceramics, a solid foundation that allowed him to develop a unique approach to art. For over a decade he worked as a ceramic designer, a period that consolidated his sensitivity to materials and forms, and which would later influence his visual work. In the mid-nineties he discovered his passion for painting and opened his first studio in Barcelona, a city that would become the ideal setting for his creative activities.

Over time, he began to exhibit in international galleries and fairs, gaining recognition both locally and internationally. His first paintings, influenced by his ceramic past, were distinguished by their emphasis on matter and texture, establishing the foundations of his style. In the early 2000s, Peris began a new stage marked by photography and digital art, combining both disciplines with painting to create innovative works that blur the boundaries between realism and abstraction. This integration allowed him to expand the possibilities of his art and open up new creative paths.

Currently, Joan Peris collaborates with galleries in Barcelona, Girona and Mallorca, as well as in Belgium and the Netherlands. His work continues to evolve and remains faithful to the constant exploration of materials, forms and techniques, consolidating himself as a versatile creator in constant search for new expressions.
